Is GZIP available for windows 7/MSDOS?

I am new to windows/dos. When programing in perl on my mac I can read in a .gz file using gunzip. Anyhow for the lab I am working in I have been needing to use MSDOS instead of unix. The only gzip/gunzip executables I have been able to find are for older versions of windows? Anyone know the solution?
